My 92 year old mum called me and asked if I could get her some Voltaraol at our local chemist at Doxfiord Park, I didn’t know what it was and asked her to spell it for me, so I could write it down, I showed the note to the shop assistant and she gave me a tube of cream 50g priced £6.99, I thought that a bit expensive but if mum wants it. When I got home with it mam wanted tablets not the cream, I wasn’t asked if it was cream or tablets or I would have called her to check. I went straight back ,cream still in bag unopened not even taken out the box to explain what had happened, but half way through my conversation I was told in no uncertain terms you can’t exchange that ! Which was rather rude, I could understand if it had been opened in anyway or if initially I had been asked whether I wanted tablets or cream, felt very uncomfortable leaving the shop the assistant was rude and straight to the point ! Is this general practise ?

I do not expect to be shouted at and belittled when asking for medication! I believe it was the Pharmacist who I spoke to and from the look on their face it was clear the pharmacist was having a bad day which they then took out on me. Serious lack of Customer Service skills!
