As a type 1 diabetic I need insulin several times a day but can only order it 14 days before I run out completely. I have only used this pharmacy 4 times for my insulin and there has been a problem with their suppliers getting it on the last 3 occasions; so I phoned the pharmacy on Wed to check whether they had received my electronic prescription request via my GP. They had and reassured me, when I quoted the issues they’d had before and that I would run out of insulin next Monday, that the issues had been sorted with a different method of ordering and my insulin would be in either Friday or Sat morning at the latest. And they said they would phone me to let me know which day it would be. I got a call from them at c.4pm on Friday, to say that their supplier had incorrectly approved the order, that they had none to deliver and they couldn’t say when they would have any. I was really annoyed! I told 1 assistant that they had assured me it would arrive and she said “we didn’t promise it” and when I said I was not having a go at her personally, she told me it sounded like I was! I then asked to speak to the Pharmacist in charge, who basically said “it wasn’t their fault as his colleagues had already said and there was nothing they could do.” He also told me to look on social media to see that other medication goes in & out of stock too, as if that would help me get over not having any insulin to stay alive. When I said “So basically you can’t supply my particular insulin then, which I could order from my previous pharmacy in Derbyshire in 2 days… ” (it’s not unicorn blood or a holey balloon), he said defensively “That’s not what I’ve said at all!”. I’m obviously too demanding if I need it at a specific time… Where has the customer service gone? Where has “the customer is always king” gone? It just felt like “Sorry it’s our supplier not us. We can’t help you…. Oh and you’ve now just got tomorrow to sort it out. Bye.” So much for a local, friendly service.

Carelessness and a lack of attention-to-detail are not characteristics that one looks for in a pharmacy. I wouldn't use them again.
