I've been using this chemist for some time as its handy to pop in on my way from work, but never felt the need to review it until today.
Today I witnessed what I can only describe as an completely unjudgemental attitude by the staff, when a customer (who appeared to be under the influence of something) looked like he was ready to collapse. Despite having other customers, the lady behind the counter realised their was an issue and spoke to the guy with concern getting him to take a seat even though he'd already collected his prescription and then called on other staff to assist.
I don't know what happened after I left but as a father who's adult child has issues like I suspect this guy has, it was great to see that level of compassion.
Its often busy in there but I wouldn't change chemists now I've seen that concern for all customers. Reply from Well Blackpool - South King Street Tue, 11 Dec 2018 14:37:27 Z Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for leaving your lovely feedback regarding the Well pharmacy in Blackpool - South King Street. It is really lovely to hear that the pharmacy team have shown such compassion no matter what the situation was. It is quite commendable the way that the first colleague, then the whole pharmacy, acted when an emergency presented itself. I will ensure this feedback has been highlighted to the Regional Manager and I am sure they will want to congratulate them personally. Once again, thank you for taking the time to inform us of your lovely feedback. Yours sincerely, Katrina Pharmacy Superintendent's Team |

Would it be possible to have a structured time for the pharmacist to take a lunch break. On several occasions I have visited this Pharmacy to collect my medication which has been electronically sent via my GPs surgery . Despite the prescription being ready to collect I have been asked to wait for the Pharmacist to ‘sign it off’ . The reason given that he/she is on their lunch break! The times in question being 2.10pm and today 2.55 pm ! The first instance I returned home and collected it later in the day . Today I sat and waited. Surely if a structured lunch break time was allocated it would eliminate the lengthy waits! If the lunch break time was displayed in the shop/website everyone would know when it was appropriate to collect their medication. We all have busy lives and heavy work schedules and one cannot take 40 mins out of their daily routine to simply collect a prescription. After another visit to this pharmacist it amazes me how ill disciplined staff are here.
They take an order off one person walk through the back slowly and return about 10 minutes later ....to give medication to that person....altogether three different members of staff were going backwards and forwards at a snails pace. One member of staff was giving someone a dressing down for making a mistake. This particular member of staff does not look up say hello or smile and says nothing much other than muttering at the paperwork with her head down. Her communication skills at verbally giving a dressing down in a full shop need to stop and some training in customer care required.
Abuse works both ways and honest people waiting patiently should not be subjected or listen to that sort of behaviour. At one point she raised her voice with a young man and demanded to know "why did you say that" 6 other people were in the shop. Well pharmacy should send in mystery shoppers and send out culprits. I gave one star as this site wont allow zero |
