please be aware when paying for a prescription at the chemist....my hubby collected and payed cash for a prescription at lads chemist back in February which he visited with his sister..last week we received a fine saying my husband hadn't payed for it and that he had ticked a box at the back of it saying he was entitled to free prescriptions !! we payed lads chemist a visit asking for them to try and trace the prescription but was told that someone double checks them everyday and writes the price of the prescription on the front so it was the nhs or his mistake never even checked till records as this would have shown the till to be over that day by 8.10 ??? But my husband wasn't served by this person, it was another person that served him also surely cctv would show him handing over money but no one even offered to check !! we have contested the fine only to be told that the box was ticked and no price was wrote on the front. we have no receipt or bank statement because we payed in cash so no leg to stand on !! so a mistake by the chemist has cost us a £50 fine!! please make sure you get a receipt or better still pay on your card !!!
