I visited boots today on behalf of my elderly mother, upon arriving my mother was on the telephone to a member of staff called Melanie. I heard how she spoke to my mother regarding medication. After Melanie had finished on the phone I asked to speak to her regarding the issue that my mother has with her medication. Melanie approached me and said this I am not discussing salbutamol with anyone else I’ve had enough of the conversation. I then proceeded to explain the issue,that we are not talking about nebulae’s for a machine we are talking about salbutamol inhalers. She said very rudely yes I know the big long box of medication, which it isn’t .I then again explained no not nebulae’s for a machine the inhalers. She again said rudely my mother can only have what’s on her prescription which salbutamol inhalers are. Basically my mum has salbutamol inhalers written on prescription but chemist is sending ventolin branded inhalers so my mum thinks as it’s not saying salbutamol on the box it’s not correct. I explained this again it resulted in me losing my patience with Melanie and I will be making a formal complaint about Melanie. I’ve moved mums chemist to somewhere else today. Mum pays for delivery’s at boots Dersingham and I often have to collect anyway. Melanie should of been considered of what I am trying to explain to her and not guessing what she think is correct as if she had bothered to be pleasant and looked at my mothers prescription on the screen she would of seen I was correct and so was my mum for the last few weeks. My mother can be a nuisance but she don’t need to be treated in that manner on the telephone like she do not know what she is talking about.
