I went to the Chemist today Friday 17/08/18 for some Solpadeine Max Soluble Tablets, which I only need every 2 to 3 months, for my back pain that flares up every now and again. The assistant said they couldn't serve me as I had already had some on Monday just gone. When I explained that that could not have been me because I wasn't in on that Monday, they changed it to, 'well perhaps it was the previous Friday'. On further telling them that I had not been in the Chemist for the last 2 months they again changed it to, 'well perhaps it was the Friday before that'. I continued to explain that I had not been in the Chemist for 2 months when they called out their senior who said that they couldn't issue this medication if I've recently just had it, to which I had to explain the whole thing again! I knew my last visit to the Chemist was 2 months ago because it was when I last saw my doctor in June (the Chemist is attached to the doctors). They continued to refuse to serve me with the medication (which, I hasten to add, I can buy anywhere - even in the supermarket); however, what was really annoying was the fact that I had definitely not been in the chemist for 2 months and they flatly were calling me a liar. Also, the arrogance, and a look that I can only describe as "I've got the power", was enough to annoy any normal person like myself. I eventually walked out and bought my medication elsewhere with no problems at all. Who do these people think they are, looking down on us like they do, and flatly calling people liars as they did. They were obviously mistaken, but their arrogance was too much for them to admit it. I will never return to that Chemist again to be treated as I was, and I warn anyone else to make a note of the exact date that you were in there before, just in case they treat you in the same disgraceful way. How you are supposed to prove when you were last in is beyond me. Absolutely ridiculous! Reply from Well Warrington - Manchester Road Tue, 28 Aug 2018 12:35:58 +0100 Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding Well on Manchester Road. I am very sorry to hear about this negative experience within this pharmacy. As a company we strive to give our customers the best and most welcoming experience possible and the fact this hasn’t happened is disappointing. As the medication you were attempting to buy can cause addiction the pharmacist has to use their discretion for all sales of this. However, I will ensure your feedback is passed on to the pharmacy team, I will ask them to reflect on how this incident could have been handled differently. Once again, please accept my apologies and I would like to thank you again for leaving your feedback. Yours sincerely, Almas Pharmacy Superintendent’s Team |

I went in to the pharmacy on Monday 6th November to sort a repeat prescription out that had been wrongly prescribed (a mistake with the dose). It was a mix up with my own GP surgery but how the matter was handled via the pharmacy was by far unacceptable.
In the end after been passed from pillow to post I managed to get the correct dose of my medication prescribed. To then be told at the pharmacy that they had not got thar dose in and one member of staff went on to say that they had run out everywhere!! To be told this when you have gone two days already when living with an anxiety disorder triggers anxiety so I was in a blind panic. Not once did the pharmacy suggest ringing round for me to help so I went back to my GP next door in a state that I can only describe as sheer panic of what am I going to do!! By one call by my surgery they tracked some of my tablets down a few doors down!!!??. I asked the receptionist at my surgery why they couldn't have done this at the well pharmacy and their response is its business so they wouldn't have took it on to ring round. I was shocked by this because knowing that a patient who was stood infront of them was in need of their medication and who has a mental health condition surely common sense or mental health training prevails that to reduce any further undue stress/anxiety they would have gone that bit further with their customer service.
I am currently still without medication because I have been in to the pharmacy mentioned a few doors down the road this afternoon who have been waiting for the Well pharmacy to sign off the medication????
This is been a very stressful ordeal for me being pushed from pillow to post and on top of this I haven't had my medication now for 3 days so my mental state is not well to say the least. I have had to cancel work this evening because I am too unwell to work. How can this be acceptable????? This situation could have been avoided if a member of staff had gone that extra mile for someone who was desperate for their medication. I am totally disgusted by all this. If it wasn't for my family & boyfriend at this time god only knows what could have happened the state I got myself in!!!. This pharmacy should be ashamed of themselves over this ordeal. Phoned Well to ask if husbands prescription was ready for collection, was advised yes it was. When I arrived was advised needed to be checked fair enough, 20 minutes later when I asked if ready the Pharmacist advised didn't have it! They finally located the medicines another 10 minutes waiting for it to be checked then advised 2 items short! will be ready tomorrow for collection. The main reason I call before I collect is so that I don't have to wait about. Why say ready when obviously not? Problem solved will collect from doctors next month and choose my chemist for dispensing will not be Well. |
