I visited the pharmacy at approximately 2.30pm on 14th September to collect a repeat prescription. I was told that the prescription could only partly be dispensed and was being made up. I waited for a few minutes for it to be produced and while I waited a gentleman from the dispensing area called one name and then a little later , another . Neither was mine. At this point the gentleman asked who I was and on my reply stated that he had already called my name. I stated that I disagreed. I did not see any point in arguing further. and took the bag of prescribed medication and went home. However, on reaching home I noticed that the name label on the bag contained the name of someone else - in fact, one of the names I heard called at the chemist. Hence the confusion was clearly within the pharmacy. Because I was shown the prescribed items before the bag was sealed and because I was given an 'owing' notice in my name I can be certain that the medication is part of my order, But it seems to me quite alarming that such confusion over the recipient of medication is allowed to occur.
