I have frequented this pharmacy for 30 years. The staff and pharmacists are very friendly and as helpful as possible under the present system.
I’m not sure why, generally, prescriptions are left to be completed only when customers come in - it would be more helpful if their paperwork were done and prescriptions ready.
Due to the nanny state I am no longer allowed 3 months supply of one type of medication, despite having to take this for 40 odd years. Yet despite knowing this will be regularly needed there is a rediculous beaurocrasy regarding how many days before, that I can order. Nor was I informed that I had tried to order “too early”. I would have thought it would be easy enough to re send my request when they knew it could be ordered. This is a joint problem between the pharmacist and doctors surgery - with my stuck in the middle. However little regard is paid to the fact that if I run out, I risk seizures and even death. This constant worry of whether I will get an order through in time needs to be addressed by those who made such a ludicrous ruling - so that the pharmacy, doctors surgery and I can get back to a sensible regime that doesn’t involve 2 weeks of worry in every month. I literally live month to month now as I am never sure if I will get my medication through in time. | ||||||

I have used this chemist over the years when I needed to pick up a prescription while in Winton. I had always thought this pharmacy was OK.
My most recent time I went in to pick up three prescriptions for my son. When I got there three attendants were on the other side of the counter. I was the only customer. They chatted for a while amongst themselves. After a while one of them decided to acknowledge I was waiting and I handed over the prescriptions. I asked if I could pick them up in ten minutes as there was another shop I wanted to go to – this was fine.
When I returned about 15 minutes later all the staff were chatting in the back area. I positioned myself in full view of them and waited.
And waited.
And waited.
They could see me and I could see them glancing at me while they chatted. Finally one came to the counter, but then started doing some paperwork. After a while doing this she finally asked me if I was being served – it was obvious I was not as she fully knew she was the first member of staff to venture to the counter in quite a while. I said no, and I wanted to pick up the prescriptions.
The pharmacist then came and said he only had the meds for two prescriptions. Would I like them to order the other two. I said no, but I will pick up the one they had. He had not made this one up, so then I had to wait further while he made this up.
I have some good news for the staff at Winton Pharmacy – since you are clearly not very keen on providing a service for me, I am delighted to inform you I have no intention of darkening your door again. | ||||||
