Thank you so much for sorting out my medication today, in such a friendly and efficient way-- the lady who answered the phone was brilliant . Such a relief, following a no-show by Echo , who were supposed to deliver the tablets. |

I have used this previously exceptionally well-managed pharmacy since 2005. Since Kamsons have taken over, all friendly personnel (including the pharmacist), have left. It has become unreliable, consistently late in preparing regular prescription, and one particular pharmacist's attitude is arrogant and offensive. I request my medication online. Having attended more than once in order to collect my medication, I finally provided evidence to the pharmacist that the prescription had been sent by my GP to them 3 hours before I attended for collection . The pharmacist denied this maintaining that he received no prescription , even though the day before he had handed me half of the medication I requested. When I complained that this happens on a regular basis, i.e. Kamson denying receiving prescriptions, and my GP giving me details of date and time when the prescription has been sent, he told me the pharmacist was not there to be abused by me. I challenged this, and asked what exactly did I say that constituted abuse. The person in questions said I was implying they were lying, and told me to take my custom elsewhere if I wasn't happy of the service receive! I replied by saying that what I told them did by no means constitute abuse, but rather a fact (being late in preparing prescriptions etc.) this person evidently did not like to hear. Changing pharmacy in Brighton is not easy, because most chemist shops in my area are now owned by Kamson, but I think that, although it will constitute a considerable inconvenience for me, I will take up the pharmacist's advice and take my custom elsewhere, because there is hostility each time I collect a prescription rather then willingness to find out what happened or, let alone, to help; its a "computer says no" scenario each time, the staff seem to be working chaotically rather than systematically, with no sense of priority. Each time I need to collect my script there is a sense of foreboding that something always goes wrong at Kamsoms, and staff do not inspire that professional confidence in me to ask for their advice. My medication is never there, ready for collection. but staff have to rummage through boxes, shelves, at the back, etc. Finally, please bear in mind that I am not a disgruntled customer that has had a bad experience and is now pouring venom on a single individual. What I have narrated is not a one-off, but happens with regularity. One goes to Kamson with the certainty that something is going to be missing or not ready or whatever. And generally it is more than one journey. in this particular instance, I attended a total of three times over a period of three days, with telephone calls to my GP and back to Kamson. Perhaps, I am being unfair in generalising. Perhaps it is not Kamson as a whole, just their Elm Grove shop. But, to be fair, I have had enough! I have had the most terrible experience at Kamsons. I had a flu jab there 4 weeks ago and it was the most painful one I ever had, and I am still in pain. My partner and I went back to tell the pharmacist and we told that she had been shown how to do it a couple of times! But my one was almost certainly done in the wrong part of my arm. Has any one else had a bad experience. |
