I went into this pharmacy to buy some hand cream. 500ml in a pump-action bottle was marked on the shelf at £7.56. I picked up two bottles. At the till I was told the bottles would be £9.99 each. I queried this against the shelf price. I was told that the shelf price referred to a similar but different 500ml product and that there was no £7.56 product available. I suggested that it was not the customer's problem if the shelf had not been stocked correctly and/or labelled correctly. I was told that the price would be £9.99 per bottle. The staff were perfectly polite in expressing their opinion but I do not think this acceptable sales practice. I chose to leave and buy the product at another store. Disappointing: even if the product on the shelf should normally retail at £9.99, under the circumstances it would have been better sales practice to let me have the bottles at £7.56 each than for me to have gone home cheesed-off enough to write a negative online review.
