We've made it our mission to take the hassle out of prescriptions. To do this, we're changing how we work so that we can give you more choice in how you get your medicines.
Whether you're under the weather or on long-term medicines, managing and collecting your prescriptions can add unnecessary extra stress. In the UK, the pharmacy model hasn't really moved on in the last 70 years, and we're working to change that.
Our pharmacies
We're developing a new store model which focuses on the things that matter most to our customers and fundamentally changes how our pharmacy teams work. We've redesigned the dispensing process and introduced new stock monitoring measures so that you don't have to wait for your medicines, and we've freed up our pharmacists to spend more time helping our customers.
As part of this, we're also bringing new technology into our pharmacies. This includes 24/7 prescription pick-up machines – meaning you can collect your medicine any time, day or night – and a text notification service, so we can let you know when your prescription is ready to collect.

My family has used this pharmacy since it opened first. I have always been very pleased with the quality of staff and service received. However standards have dropped alarmingly over the last 6-8 months. Nowadays it is staffed with different people every time I visit. Not only that but our monthly prescriptions are not always ordered with the doctor so no medicine on the due date. If the prescriptions are ordered it is highly unlikely that all medicines are present meaning several trips to collect what should have been there.
My husband has several ailments which necessitates being prescribed 17 different items, myself having 9 items, we have enough stress in our life without worrying if this medication will be available.
The worst part of this is the total apathy of the staff in the store. They have a “not my fault” attitude and quite frankly don’t give a hoot about their service.
The last straw was a note telling us that 1 item was MCS, manufacturer cannot supply. On visiting the surgery for an alternate medicine we were told that apparently other pharmacies could still supply the same medicine. A prescription was given into Boots and lo and behold the medicine was delivered.
This is just one instance, there are many many more.
I have now removed my repeat prescriptions from this branch and taken them to Boots the chemist.
I very rarely cause a fuss and complain however on this occasion I deem it necessary to follow through on this appalling branch.
