Meadow View Care Centre

My mother was cared for in Meadow View for four and a half years. She had dementia and Initially was argumentative but the staff dealt with her with good humour in a calm and pleasant manner. This made her feel safe and although her dementia made her forget where she was, she was never worried about being there. They always tried to involve her in activities but if she didn't want to, they didn't try to make her do anything against her will. In later years she became more docile and sometimes needed encouragement to get up and excercise and eat and drink appropriately. This needed a great deal of patience and despite the fact the the staff were always busy, they seemed to find time to do this without hurrying her or making her feel that she was an inconvenience. As she became more frail they acquired suitable equipment to make her more comfortable called for the doctor whenever her condition gave any concern. Towards the end I had no hesitation in asking that she remain in comfortable, familiar surroundings with staff who were incredibly caring and compassionate. I have nothing but praise for all who cared for her.
