Alma Lodge Care Home

Finding a good and well run care home is very difficult. I had seen numerous care homes before Alma Lodge in Eastbourne. My elderly friend is very happy there. The room she has is very nice and well aired. The food is excellent. There are not a lot of residents in this care home and so in my opinion they are given far more time by the staff than other care homes with a greater proportion of residents. There is a lovely lounge as well as sitting in the conservatory looking at the gardens. It is my opinion and that of other visitors as well as the residents whom I have spoken to that Alma Lodge is a very well run care homes which does actually care for the residents and my friend loves it there. This care home should be looked at prior to choosing a home for your relative or friend.

Finding the right Care Home for a dear relative I found was extremely difficult. Alma Lodge appealed to me as soon as I entered the home. It felt like I was in a normal home and not the type of institutional home I had seen in other homes. The residents all stated that they were happy at Alma Lodge and several had been in previous care homes and informed me that Alma Lodge was so much better. The food ( my Aunt is a hearty eater) is all home cooked and the portions most generous. There is none of the usual type of "smells" that I noticed in care homes I had looked at prior to Alma Lodge. The staff are very friendly and most caring, some of the staff had worked at Alma Lodge for near on 20 years which tome says a lot. Finding this type of care home for my Aunt was such a relief and I know that she is happy there and being very well cared for. Being self funding was also a point I had to look at and the monthly price I feel is very fair seeing how much help and care my Aunt gets. I would strongly recommend this care home.
