Lakeside Care Home

Rest assured if you're lucky enough to get your relative a place at Lakeside they will be happy and receive excellent care. I was very apprehensive upon moving my Nan from the Home Counties down to Devon, she really didn't want to "be in a home" and was tearful upon admission. I spent sleepless nights wondering if I had done the right thing. However I was so impressed upon visiting the home and talking to the proprietor my gut instinct told me all would be well. Especially as she was then in another home she hated and which l had concerns over. Lakeside is clean and smells of laundered washing throughout, whenever you go...mixed in with delicious smells of wholesome home cooking (the food looks and smells great and the choices they get make me want to hang about for lunch as well!) My Nan is really happy there and I have no doubt at all that I did the right thing for her, she doesn't cry when I speak to her like she did in the other home, she has put on weight instead of losing it and knowing her extremely well, I am in no doubt at all that is as happy as can be. She says to me often this feels like home and not 'a home'. Never thought I would hear her say that! The staff are fabulous at what they do and always make the visiting relatives feel welcomed without it feeling false in any way. They include the residents in meetings so they can voice opinions over anything they feel fit. There are plenty of activities and day trips too of course. I really treasure vising my nan there as it makes be happy to know that she will be happy there for however long she may remain there. Well done Lakeside and keep up the great work!
