When Dad left hospital in January 2014, we were told that after his stroke and other ailments; Parkinson's, Dementia and Alzheimers, there was no alternative other than to find him a care home that could provide the high level of care he required. My sister and I were saddened by this as we had always said we would do our best to look after our parents ourselves. We looked at several Care Homes; some on line and some by visiting, but very quickly our search led us to Park View Care Home. No appointment was necessary to visit, we had a friendly welcome and were shown round the home and all our questions were answered.
Since Dad has been in Park View (15 months) his overall health has gone down hill as we expected and his care requirements are continually increasing. We cannot thank all the staff enough for the wonderful care Dad receives. Although doubly incontinent and in bed all the time, we can visit at anytime of day from early morning and he is always clean, dressed and given plenty of liquids throughout the day, although he can do nothing for himself, does not understand what is going on or know who we are!
Our only problem we are now facing is the NHS Continuing Healthcare Appeal. Not a fault of the care home.
If you want the best for your relative whatever their needs, I think you will find it here.
Many thanks to all the staff at Park View Care Home Ipswich |
