My mother recently stayed at Wentworth Grange at Riding Mill and I thought I would be able to share our wonderful experiences.
First and foremost we are grateful for the care she received, particularly from the staff who regularly popped in to see her and gave her a cuddle often outside their hours or in addition to their own duties. After she died one of them said to us: ‘We have no family here – she was our family’ which touched us greatly.
We were very grateful to the Manager for their willingness to move her to near the dining room. With the door open this gave her a continuing source of interest, which demonstrated how much she valued knowing what was going on.
We were immensely grateful for their financial initiative which saved my mam a considerable amount of money.
Throughout the 5 and a bit years the food was excellent. We highlight this because she enjoyed it so much. Meals were important to her right up to the end.
I am personally grateful for the friendly, welcoming atmosphere the manager and their team created which made it so easy for us to visit for long periods every five to six weeks. We were constantly amazed at how easy the entire staff made it for us to make our own teas and coffee, have lunch and enjoy the comfort of the sitting rooms – fully making ourselves at home which we really appreciated this and the staffs efforts.
Wentworth staff are outstanding and they looked after and loved my mother no matter how hard it was at times. Heartfelt thanks

I have to say how impressed we were with the facilities and staff of Wentworth Grange and Hampton House.
My father was quite unwell, leading to the uncomfortable decision of possible care.
I was so shocked to see that there is a place out there that doesnt look like a care home, it looks and feel more like a hotel.
It was an easy decision to make in the end. And food was outstanding |
