Sycamore House

This is the way I feel about the staff and the level of care they provide. My Mother was recently resident in Sycamore House for 6 months and whilst it would never be the same as living at home it came a very close second. I cannot praise the care she received highly enough. In the beginning Mum was reasonably mobile and was able to join in activities which she thoroughly enjoyed, including a trip on the River Trent. Mealtimes were always enjoyed and in fact Mum said that she loved living somewhere with such a good restaurant! Sadly Mum became less mobile but anyone who was walking by would just pop their head round the door to say hello and check she was ok. Everyone including domestics, carers, Cook and management (apologies to anyone I have missed) would cal in and have a chat and a laugh with her, and I am sure this is what kept her going during her final months. Sadly Mum's health deteriorated and she passed away recently. The staff at Sycamore House looked after her to the end with wonderful care and compassion, nothing was ever too much trouble, even tempting her with a favourite meal at any time of day! As well as looking after Mum so well they also looked after me, always keeping me informed and just being there for me and for that I am so grateful, it made a very sad time that much easier to bear. thank you everyone for the love, care and compassion you gave Mum and her family.
