Castleview Care Home

My dad suffered with vascular dementia, it was his communication skills that left him, he couldn't write or read or watch TV, he became quite aggressive. I think he was very frustrated and frightened. He went to several care homes before arriving at Castleview, each one he had been moved on as he could be quite destructive, he had a habit of removing radiators. After a few weeks weeks at Castleview they asked if we minded that they didn't keep replacing the wardrobe doors, we didn't mind at all. Dad calmed down, they got to know what really agitated him and they worked around it. My dad has just passed away, knowing that he was truly cared for means the world to my family. We were privileged to spend the last few days and nights with my dad, to see all the staff looking after him with such genuine care was heartwarming. His key worker came in on her time off to see him, all the staff came in to say goodbye before going off shift. After a very turbulent few years dad died a very dignified death and I can't thank the home enough.
