Been a nervous patient I have recently been seen by one particular dentist, he’s been very consultative in his approach giving me great advice on a few options for root filing, tooth removal and bridge.

After spending some time to locate a sensitive dentist who was able to deliver pain free, safe and efficient dental treatment I was delighted for many years to attend this dental surgery. The dentist had always been consistently excellent in terms of his treatment but I was disappointed to discover - without any prior notice - that his treatment is now only exclusively restricted to Denplan patients. I was assigned another dentist but have not booked any treatment as yet. I would have appreciated some respectful, courteous and considerate communication to at least inform patients of the decision to reshuffle the patients according to a financial consideration that seems more about benefiting the dentist’s pockets rather than prioritising the patients’ dental needs. This effectively means patients can’t make truly informed decisions and are expected to sit back, accept it, put up and shut up if they’re not satisfied with this. How concerning is this for the paying NHS patients who are just yet again let down by greed and financial motivation? It’s not the way forward. A very disappointed and loyal patient who now feels let down by a previously top notch dental surgery. |
