I’m every dentists worst nightmare due to a lot of horrible past experiences and I have trust issues when it comes to dentists but Bupa Wantage was awesome.
After one of my friends recommended Bupa Dental Wantage when I needed a new Dentist, I registered and got in for a new patient appointment with the dentist that i had specifically requested.
I’ve just been to my first appointment and the team were amazing.
I was really nervous, wanted to turn and run out the door and never look back and I let my fears completely rule me!
The lovely dental nurse sat with me and talked to me for a bit before she took me through and the dentist was excellent. Everyone was really patient with me and just talked to me which was really helpful.
I was even given the option of just talking rather than having my dental examination which was awesome as it gave me back control and showed me the team would work with me. It really put me at ease.
I got through the dental exam and had everything explained by the dentist so there was no surprises and I came out of my appointment feeling really silly as there was literally nothing to fear. All of my fears had been countered and I know next time, I won’t have anything to fear!
I can’t thank the team enough for being so amazing today and I’ll definitely be back for a check up in 6-12 months!!!! |

I have normally had positive experiences, however, having received at least 4 reminder texts in the run up to my appointment, I was disappointed that no one bothered to contact me on the morning of my appointment to let me know the dentist was off sick. Sickness can't be helped but I would have thought that as the first appointment of the day someone could have contacted me so I did not turn up and waste my time. I was then unable to rebook for 5 weeks on a Monday with this dentist so have had to go with a different one. I would have thought a priority would at least be to text the first patient . Firstly, please accept my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused as a result of your cancelled appointment on the 21st May 2018. To avoid disruption to our patients we will when at all possible contact them to advise them if their appointments will be affected as a result of absence. Normally we will telephone patients on the contact numbers provided to alert them of changes with their appointments. As Dr Coombs was absent from the practice on the 21st May 2018, we subsequently attempted to contact patients by telephone to re-schedule the appointment. If we were not successful in contacting patients, voicemails were left on answering machines. I am sorry we were unable to book an appointment for you sooner and with this in mind I shall ensure that you are notified if any cancellations become available. I am pleased however to note that you have been happy with the service and treatments provided to you at the practice. I would like to re-assure you that your feedback has been taken on board which we shall use moving forward to improve our services. Best wishes Innocent Hamandishe |

I should say , I have been with this dentist for four years now and have never had problems with them. |
