My teenager was referred to CO in Tamworth and we began the process of been evaluated for an NHS funded teeth straightening treatment.
We were kept informed and they explained the process. It would be long 12-18 months and require numerous visits to the Tamworth practice. Also there was a long waiting period. We asked about private treatment as an option both cost and save only about six months wait. We were seen by their lead dental staff. His experience and knowledge was most reassuring. Staff were friendly and nice whilst still being very busy.
Various little things happened during the treatment but nothing that having tiny wires pulling at teeth, some small amount of soreness and discomfort but nothing a little fuss and some gentle pain relief did not sort. but after just 12 months results were great. Personally having myself failed in the 80"s at wearing a removable brace and then having cosmetic dental work I was all for helping our child keep their original teeth and straighten them up as it is far better than the quick fix that are nothing like your own teeth in terms of strength or maintenance.
We have no experience of other centres for orthodontics but these professionals are highly skilled and helpful. The practice is bright, clean, handy near a town car park and next to a lovely park. I recomend and would pass on their last instructions about keep ongoing use of the retainer brace at night, teeth that are straightened will return back to the old positions when no retaining brace is used at night for sleeping. So don't let all the visits, car park change, little mouth sores and all that effort and NHS funding go to waste by not keeping your teeth straight for life. Thanks for reading sorry I tend to ramble. :-) |
