I have an absolute fear of dental treatment but enough was enough and couldn't take the pain any longer. After persistently ringing this morning I was offered an appointment this afternoon. I explained my anxieties etc and found the staff accomodating and friendly they explained all my options fully and reassured me throughout the treatment. Thank you so much. Having lost a filling, had nothing but hassle from the private dentist and being left with excruciating pain, I called and got an appointment straight away. The staff couldn't of been more helpful and any more non judgmental. The dentist and nurse ere absolutely superb. They were calming and professional; I wish all dentists were as nice and professional as them. Please pass on my thanks. N Lilley |

Rang them this morning in sheer desperation - the practice I’ve been with for over 15 - FIFTEEN - years ditched me for no valid reason and refused to see me when a molar sheared off, leaving an enormous hole. Their “reason” for taking me off their list was ridiculous. After some extensive work by a locum dentist about 2 years ago, one of the fillings had partially fallen out, and the practice manager told me there was no-one who could see me as the locum had left, and to wait for them to call me when they had finally recruited new staff. They never did. I wanted to be seen, but was repeatedly told they had no-one available. When I rang with this as an emergency, I was told that because I hadn’t been for 2 years, they’d taken me off their patient list. Apparently, I should still have been going every 6 months despite there being no-one I could book an appointment with! No amount of explaining to the complaints manager got me back on their list, and the practice manager has steadfastly ignored all my messages - the tooth had shifted, or split, or something, round about the time of my father’s death and funeral in June, then this huge chunk literally fell out on Saturday afternoon, the day after I’ d come out of hospital (it’s possible that the anaesthetist knocked it during my op). I rang my dentist again, because it was even more of an emergency than the cracked tooth I’d spoken to them about before, but they were unmoved and still refused to see me. I’m stunned that they can treat anyone like this. They told me to go to the access centre in Peterborough, and didn’t know about this team at Hinchingbrooke. The Huntingdon team were incredibly helpful, and saw me this afternoon, which was such a relief. The dentist was lovely, and dealt with my anxiety sympathetically. .The treatment was quick and painless. I was treated kindly, and with respect and dignity throughout. I have no hesitation in recommending this service to anyone. I only wish I could see them again as my regular dentist, but they’re an emergency service, so it isn’t possible. |
