The dentist themselves are polite and professional. But by organizational perspective, this is far by the worst dental practice in the country I have been to. I am getting dental treatment in the UK from the last 15+ years. We went as emergency NHS 111 patients for my wife, and it was so brutally painful for her that A&E York gave two injections of local anesthetic so we can make up to the dentist. Our appointment was at 15:10. We reached there exactly on time and joined the queue while both the receptionists were on phone calls and took us 5 minutes to get in front of the queue at 15:15. The receptionist said you are 5 minutes late and dentist cannot see you (However, she knew that she was on the call while we were waiting in the queue). I explained severity and requested her to speak to the dentist on which she said that “the dentist cannot see you” without speaking to anyone. Due to so much pain, we spoke to the other receptionist and she said dentist is in a meeting, come at 6pm. We were there at exactly 6pm and were not seen by a dentist until 7:20pm (just 10 mins before closing time) and the problematic tooth was x-rayed and extracted with medication given. I completely feel that despite being in sheer pain, we were only ignored as we were NHS 111 patients and not private. This must be addressed and formally dealt with by General Dental Council! Proofs related to the above can be provided on request. |

Got an emergency appointment through 111 on a Saturday mornjng due to pain and swelling (I have had an infected socket before so I know exactly what it was). Appointment was supposed to be at 08:30… receptionist didn’t open the doors to the practice until 08:40. Then I overheard the receptionist saying to another patient that the dentist isn’t going to start until 9am today? When I actually saw the dentist he was so uninterested he didn’t even look up from the computer whilst I explained what was happening, didn’t say hello, was completely uninterested. He then looked in my mouth, poked my gum twice and told me he couldn’t see anything??? I told him there’s yellow stuff coming out of the gum so he did give me antibiotics and then was swiftly shown the door - again without looking up from the computer. I was charged 25 pound for the pleasure. I have seen many dentists over the past few years and this was the worst experience. It seemed like he just didn’t care at all |
