When trying to make an appointment I was told to come in and pick up a form. The form is actually available online and would have saved time and a journey if I had been told this.
I was advised that Typhoid vaccination only required every 5 years. This is the wrong information as a booster is required every 3 years according to the NHS website. I was also told that it could be given any time before travel, which is the wrong information as the NHS website says, ideally, one month.
It proved very difficult to obtain an appointment a month before travel (initial attempt to make an appointment was 6 weeks before travel).
Staff seem to do their best to be as unhelpful as possible and adopt a very unfriendly tone. |

This morning rather than call to block phone line to the surgery, I used my login details and went online at 8.00 and for an appointment at 8.20am :-) Saw the Dr I wanted to see. Perfect....
Highly recommend booking online if you have a specific GP you want to see and you have knowledge of the days they work. save blocking the phone lines for the people that can not use the online service. |

Over a period of about 3 week I had noticed I was getting a little short of breath during my walks around Dorking. Thinking I had better check it out I called into your New House Surgery to make an appointment to see one of your doctors, there were 2 ladies on the reception desk, one of them booked a 5pm appointment for me then, as I turned to leave, the other lady called me back because she had picked up on my description of my symptoms, she suggested that if an earlier appointment became available, I should take it. An earlier spot did become available (albeit at Riverbank) so I took advantage of it and from then on everything happened at the speed of light. Between 10.40am 21/Aug and 10.40am 22/Aug I had been examined, prescribed some temporary medication, underwent a blood test, an ECG reading and chest x-ray, all because the receptionist was alert enough to pickup on those 3 words "short of breath"....that's what I call instinct....not everybody has it and if they do then, they don't always act upon it....thank you, I feel very fortunate.
