The practice is run in a doctor centred way with little regard to patients. Getting any sort of appointment is near impossible and takes great persistence and is time consuming. There is virtually no choice about which doctor you can see and there there is no choice of timing. Appointment times and doctors are completely random. The patient is expected to take whatever appointment the practice deigns to offer and change whatever commitments they might have in order to accept the appointment knowing that it will be virtually impossible to get another. Therefore regular reviews of medication with a particular doctor is virtually impossible unless you are prepared to put in a huge amount of time and effort phoning the practice and monitoring the very few appointments which pop up in their online booking system. The whole process is entirely unacceptable and is not patient friendly. The system is designed to put patients off seeing doctors. Previously the result of this has been that I was taken off medication that I should have continued (according to my ‘regular’ doctor). Also my repeat prescriptions have been cancelled leaving me unwell as it is difficult to engage in the fight to get an appointment. There is no consistency of care. It is truly shocking.
The overall star rating for this review will be better than it deserves because I have had to be honest and give 5 stars to its website which will increase the average star rating. |

I have just recovered from a press-gang approach to hearing tests seemingly promoted by this surgery.
I have some rather deep concerns regarding the ethics of allowing the practice's apparently strong links to a commercial enterprise to be interpreted -by me at least -as patient advice, or even an and NHS recommendation supported by Farnham Dene's doctors.
Having been 'tested' and subsequently denied access to the test results it transpires that the link between the surgery and Hidden Hearing Ltd has nothing to do with the NHS and is not sanctioned by any resident doctor.
What ethical stance is in force here ? |
