This practice certainly does not match the bad press that is given to GP SERVICES in the popular press. My GP is particularly great. He never makes you feel as if he hasn't got time to listen to you. He is unfailingly kind, helpful and reassuring. He makes sure that any off practice tests or treatment are organised as quickly as possible. The other staff whether medical or administrative are also excellent. This is how all GP practices should be. I have undergone heart surgery and have had several problems arising from that surgery. In view of this I prefer to see the same GP, i.e. my own GP for continuity of my care. If there is a more minor problem I am quite happy to see another GP. It would be difficult for me to relate the difficulties I have encountered in a short time and discuss the current problem. I do find it difficult if I cannot get an appointment with my GP but I have to say that I have been successful to date. It just means that I need to ring the surgery at 8.30 and hope that I can get an appointment. Having said that I believe I could always arrange for my GP to contact me by phone. I think you have an excellent service at the surgery. I very much like the fact you can get an appointment with one of the doctors on the day you require it, or when you happen to be ill. I think that forward appointments get missed by patients who have recovered by the time the appointment occurs hence a lot of missed appointments. |
