I had an appointment at 8.45am. I came to the surgery car park at 8.25am and there was no space to park at all. it was a Tuesday morning. when I walked in and sat down to wait for the doctor there was no one waiting in the waiting room. it seems all the staff park here and nothing is left for the patients who the car park is for. it seems unfair to do this to people who drive to their appointments and is reasonable for staff to park elsewhere to allow patients to park as a priority. doctors and pharmacists of course need space, but it would be helpful if all other staff could let the patients park please. Reply from Rowlands Castle Surgery Wed, 10 Jul 2019 16:36:20 +0100 I am sorry to hear you had problems parking in the surgery car park. Unfortunately a lot of the parking in the area is for 2 hours and as our staff work at least 5 hour shifts it is difficult for them to park off site. Patients are usually aware of this and allow a little more time for parking. Unfortunately our car park will never be big enough for our needs. It is an on going challenge for us and we are aware that poor parking sometimes limits spaces either side of the car park. Marking bays would help and we intend to look into this. It is unfortunate that you did not feel able to come to me with your concerns in person. I hope you are happy with the rest of the service you receive from the surgery. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you. Janine Leake – Practice Manager |

We have lived in the village since 1982 & will never leave. Why? Because of the surgery.
I have had a lot of bad health since then, various problems some serious, some not but I can’t speak highly enough of all the staff. On 3 occasions in the past years,1 recently, I’ve needed to see a Dr on the day because of an emergency. The receptionist was amazing, I was crying & shaky, she asked if I’d like a glass of water & she went in to see the Dr who said he’d see me as soon as he could (he had a full surgery) she asked me to sit in the waiting room & the Dr would call me. In the time I was waiting the surgery manager stopped to talk to me & ask how I was, the receptionist came in to check on me & both the lovely pharmacists (a wonderful phamacy attached to the surgery, how lucky are we?!) came in to ask how I was. Is there anywhere else you’d get that service, I don’t think so. In an emergency they will always see you on the day. All the staff are lovely & the surgery manager is very caring & thoughtful & is always there to answer any queries or sort out problems. One of the best & convenient things is that you can pick up a prescription straight away, by the time you say goodbye to the lovely receptionists & walk into the pharmacy & greeted by the equally lovely staff there your prescription is ready!
If you see a nurse they too are very good & will consult a Dr if they think it’s necessary.
They also do a Dr’s phone in every morning before the appointments start, I use this for my regular problems & the Dr sorts out medication on the phone or asks to see me if he thinks it’s necessary.
A phlebotomy nurse visits every Wed am which has saved us a trip to a hospital/clinic.
My medication review every year is also very thorough. |
