Brought my husband Arthur Collins for a blood test 19th April. He has Parkinsons and needs a wheelchair to get around.. getting to the surgery found that there was NO wheelchair at all . We battled to get him down to room 5 for his blood test. On the way back he had to rest before leaving the surgery. Surely any one of the doctors or the receptionist must have noticed there was no wheelchair. I am sure it had not been missing only for today. Please get another wheelchair as someone may really really need it. |

Forgetting the comments on this site a moment as may or may not be true. What cannot be argued is the table above showing how they are doing in terms of diagnosis etc, this is government data done annually. They only catch 29% of cancer through poor practice (gov data) I am very scared. I have a blood test tomorrow, I have gone from 11 stone down to 8,7, I lost 4 pounds in one day for no reason recently. There have not been able to diagnose what’s wrong in over 2 years. The gov table reflects that. Where can I turn, I’m so so scared I’m not being taken seriously. Had loads of tests with them in past, and after a few basic ones they give up. I hope this time is different. Please |

Since most of the other reviews are rather negative I want to say that my experience is much more positive than that. I have regular contact with the surgery staff (the receptionists and my GP and occasionally the nurses) because of my medical condition. I have always found the receptionists helpful whether on the phone or at the desk. Contacing them by phone does usually require holding on for a while as they are often busy, but that is to be expected especially at busy times of day. My GP makes sure that my treatment and medication is appropriate and he shows genuine concern for my welfare and when he is on leave he makes sure that I know who to contact in case of any need. The contact I have with the nurses has usually been for samples for blood tests, and I'm always impressed by how they can stick a needle in my arm almost without me noticing. So I would definitely recommend this surgery and their staff. It is frustrating that folk use these types of comments pages to express their dissatisfaction, as it is almost always, impossible to look into what happened and take action when such comments are made anonymously. It seems to be the way of the world that this feedback type is more usually taken by those who are disgruntled, so it is particularly valued when people take the time to tell us of their positive experiences, which is much more in line with what patients tell us on a day to day basis. |
