Surgeries are in the frontline of NHS services and often get a bad press. I don’t know why as they are operating under severe restraints, in terms of costs and recruitment.
My experience has always been first class. I can talk to a health practioner within the hour via a telephone consultation, and see the duty doctor on the same day, under a “sit and wait” arrangement which works very well.
The attached pharmacy is also very helpful with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Prescriptions are sent across from the surgery to await collection. Repeat prescriptions can be ordered online. It is a very efficient and effective system. |

I have always been able to contact the surgery by phone, always been able to talk to a person. I have been offered appointments that are both timely and reasonable. Would recommend. |

I was taken ill when I was away volunteering on the steamship Shieldhall so I completed an online consultation. Within five minutes the surgery phoned me back saying I needed to see the duty doctor straight away. As I was not coming back until later that night, they said I should phone in the morning. I did so and when I gave my name, the receptionist knew exactly why I was calling and gave me an appointment for an hour later. Within fifteen minutes of my arrival, I saw a lovely member of staff who gave me a thorough examination, diagnosed that I did not have a chest infection, as I had thought, but had inflamed airways. She prescribed Ventolin and I am slowly getting better.
With so many people nowadays saying they do not have access to a GP, I would like to let you know that I found your online consultation extremely easy to use and that it produced almost instant results. Furthermore, the surgery were very quick to pick up that I might have something more serious so the questions on the consultation are very well thought out.. Thank you so much to you all. I shall certainly use this in future. |
