Again this year I am struggling to get an appointment for an Asthma and COPD review. Managed to get an appointment for an Asthma review on October 10th at 1810hours. Only to be told several days later that due to staff sickness the appointment was cancelled yet I could have an appointment on the same day at 1400 hours ???????
Received a letter about booking a COPD appointment giving me the option of 9 different dates , I telephoned to book only to be told there are no appointments. After asking what the complaints procedure was, I was contacted by the surgery representative who informed me that the surgery had lived up to their obligation and that they could not be responsible for the fact that there were no appointments after 1615hours. Thank you for your sympathy for my situation.
Even though the surgery is open until 2000hours and that I would except any appointment after 1615 hours in the near future apparently there are no appointments I will no doubt receive another letter soon reminding me of my obligation to have an Asthma and COPD review and that if I don't they will stop my prescriptions. Because I work ( in Eastleigh) and really cannot afford to loose money having time off for a appointment during the day is it unreasonable of me to want an appointment after 1615 ????? |

Having had an itchy middle finger on left hand, and having treated it with E45, and also consulted the local pharmicist I ended up with a visit to the nurse as there had not been a significant improvement over several weeks. The nurse was most attentive, and thought a second opinion from a Doctor was required. It was thought that "Athletes Foot" was to blame! on the finger. Subsequenlyt a cream was prescribed which had an immediate impact. The appointment time was kept, and within a very short time I had seen the Nurse, Doctor and was on my way to the chemist with prescription. A most impressive preformance from all concerned at the Surgery. Well done. |

My experience with this practice lately has been awful. I can never get through to book an appointment even though I am phoning at 08-00 am only to receive a message saying 'We are busy, please phone back later' so when I give it a short while and try to phone again I am told that all the appointments have gone and to phone 08-00am the following day. I know I am not the only one that this has happened to but this is a regular occurrence. No wonder the A & E department is bursting at the seams when forced to call 111 and explain to them my symptoms and that I need help they send me off to A & E and after a nine hour wait to see the doctor there, he is frustrated I am frustrated because I should have seen my GP or urgent care!! It's like a 'Merry-go- Round' but not so 'merry' when people are unwell they need to see a doctor! |
