I am writing this on behalf of my partner, he has been really poorly for a few weeks now, blood test was taken 2 weeks ago the receptionist was so rude to him when he popped into the surgery to see if he could get the blood test results and was told cannot help you, you need to go on line, not everyone finds this easy to do especially when you are feeling worried about the results, I went on line and found the results which had against quite a few things ABNORMAL overall ANEMIA now surely someone should have contacted him and at least spoken to him and discussed medication, this could be an after effect of COVID which he had in January. Also a phone response from your surgery is taking 3 weeks that is ridiculous, you are pushing your responsibility onto 111 or A&E and at these awful times we are living in, they are over run with patience. Just tell me why the surgery is still open, no calls are answered, can’t get appointments and struggle to get call backs. |

Since the Vine medical Group has taken control of the surgery it has become really dire. The majority of the receptionists are curt stopping short of being rude and uncaring. The doctors (if you can see one) are superb.
Really a shame that this surgery has been destroyed by the administration. |

I have been a patient of Stakes Lodge Surgery for over 20 years. Since the merger with other surgeries to form Vine Medical many key staff left or taken early retirement. Those of long service are notably demoralised and apologetic.
Access to GPs appears now regulated by ignorant, unqualified telephone handlers, when they can be bothered to answer the phone. Getting an appointment is virtually impossible even in the case of emergency... you cannot make an appointment but have to call or be called back by someone marginally more knowledable.
Appointments appear to be made with random staff at random locations. There is no concept of having a GP who knows you and your medical history. A take it or leave it attitude pervades.
A simply shocking decline for a formerly excellent practice, that I would have recommended. |
