So, after having major abdominal surgery late last Wednesday I now have a very deep wound which needs packing daily. I was discharged from hospital on Saturday evening so managed (awkwardly) to do the packing on my own on Sunday as the surgery was closed. My husband called into the surgery at around 8.45 this morning (Monday) to see if there was a chance I could get a nurse appointment today. The receptionist was very helpful and arranged for me to see the nurse at 10.am and also a nurse practitioner? (I think) to phone me about extra pain medication as my pain level was through the roof. Whilst with the nurse (Louise) the other nurse (also Louise) came in and talked to me about pain relief and ordered another prescription for me. My wound was sorted very well and then it was decided that really I needed community nurses to call daily which Louise arranged for me immediately. Wow, what amazing service and so, so caring. Such compassion. I know that the NHS isn’t always perfect but I honestly can’t fault the service I received today. Thank you Solent View!! |

Having had continuous cellulitis on my hip, which took over 2months to get sorted, had to send numerous photos to surgery, very embarrassing, had to get my husband to take as I was unable due to position, never saw any medical staff, eventually managed to see a nurse who was aghast at how hot and weeping it was, still no GP, again more antibiotics, very bad service |

Unfortuntely since the covid pandemic this surgery went from being amazing to one of the worst. The doctors are great and the doctors do get 5 stars however the receptionist staff are some of the rudest people. As an example one receptionist looked through my records as i asked for my test results and made side comments regarding my results saying something came up but its not overally important. Later i had a different appointment to find that my nurse was shocked that none of my follow up appointments or calls were made for follow up tests and that i had to go for further tests. They also constantly lie about follow up calls from nurses so many occasions no follow up calls have been made. They also lost stool samples and my results another time which is so embarrising and asked me to do them again as no details was on the system. They are unorganised, its obvious from my own experience that they do not do everything to protocol and they lose tests results and documents. Doctors are great however they need to review their receptionist staff! |
