I have always found the care at SMP to be very good . Contacting them however is almost impossible . I have made nine attempts over two days and a total of almost two hours telephoning before I recieved an answer . Even then the receptionist said it would be two days before a doctor could call me back . After explaining the severity of my condition she did offer a call back today . Here's hoping . |

My daughter was a patient until registering at uni. She was ill during her holiday at home and required antibiotics. She was refused an appointment by receptionist who told her she had to go to her uni GP despite the distance. My understanding is that she could be seen as a temporary patient but this was refused. The manner of the receptionist was less than sympathetic and understanding bearing in mind you only ring a medical practice when you feel ill. Not the first bad experience unfortunately |

It takes forever to get through on the phone - at least 20 mins holding on and then greeted by rude receptionist who immediately offer a complaints form rather than apologise for the wait.
Some GP's very good and others rude and unhelpful. The Practice Manager is never available and i am still waiting for a reply to a letter from last September. I have given up! On my last visit to the surgery i was denied medication i requested even though recommended on the NHS Nice guidelines. |
