Me and my husband have been going to this practice for several years, my husband since he was born and myself when I moved to Reading over 10 years ago.
It’s a warm and welcoming practice, with very compassionate Dr’s, nurses and staff.
Yes okay, it isn’t modern and flashy like some other surgeries but who cares, as long as your medical needs are seen to it doesn’t matter. |

This GP Surgery is close to our house, so that makes it very convenient to visit. However, that's about the only good thing I can say about it. It's very old and tatty and needs a good refurbishment - or lacking that just a bit of a clean up, tidy and paint job.
Every time I've visited I've come away feeling dissatisfied with the level of professionalism. Neither of the doctors I've seen have a decent "bedside manner" - one continuously rambling off subject about their holidays etc. in the middle of serious medical conversations, the other one blunt and rude.
Before I go I always do a bit of reading up on NHS Direct about the symptoms/condition, and nearly every time I seem to be better informed than they are.
I don't think I've ever managed to get an appointment for the same day, rarely even for the next day. The reception seems to change staff quite frequently and are unhelpful to the point of rudeness. The GP was supposed to arrange an appointment with a midwife for my wife, however after not hearing anything back (from midwife or GP) for 2 weeks, the receptionist bluntly told me to call back in another week if I haven't heard anything. I had to insist before they reluctantly conceded to chase-up the midwife about contacting us.
Unfortunately, it seems that in our area the other GP Surgeries don't rate even as favourably as this one. Therefore what choice do we have but to accept this substandard level of general medical care and advice. |

This is a small practice. While this may suit some people, it can be frustrating for others. I have been left feeling unheard by a doctor regarding my care. Online services were not running when asked at reception. |
