Here's a letter I sent to the surgery this week:
Dear Perranporth Surgery, and everyone who is part of this wonderful team,
I just wanted to say a really huge thank you for the amazing service and experience I have received since becoming a patient at the surgery 18 months ago. Having struggled for years with poor services at my local surgery in London, I couldn’t believe the quality of service provided here when I moved down. It has been exceptional in every way and I have been meaning to pass on my gratitude to the whole team for a long time now. I’ve been made to feel really valued and cared for as a patient here, something I believe is a rarity elsewhere these days.
So, thank you ALL for everything you do there on a daily basis to provide such quality care to our community. It is hugely appreciated. | ||||||

My cousin had an allergic reaction, she was swollen and struggling to breathe. I called at 17.59 on a Friday and they agreed to see her. When my cousin called to give details they’d actually shut but didn’t dismiss her.

I'm not a regular visitor to Perranporth Surgery.. in fact I like to think I'm a healthy member of the human race which I normally am.
At the end of May I noticed a tiny lump on my breast, no bigger than a pea.
After a day of deliberation I phoned the surgery for an appointment.. I was very lucky because when I told the receptionist my reason for classing it as quite urgent I was slotted in to see a Doctor the next day.
The Doctor examined me and said she would be asking the Mermaid centre to make an appointment to see me within two weeks.
Within a week I received the appointment and eight weeks later I was undergoing surgery.
I cannot thank the Doctor enough for her swiftness in realising there could be a real problem and not just a cyst problem I'd imagined it to be.
I've been with Perranporth Surgery for most of my life (and it's been a long one) and from having whooping cough at four weeks old, to my cancer diagnosis at seventy years old, I can only praise every member of the Practice for their efficiency, kindness compassion and their ability to empathise with my worries.
To the Doctor who saw me today.. thank you so much for putting my mind at rest and for everything you did in the lead up to the operation.
