RECEPTIONIST - SALLY I am writing not to complain but to highlight a few concerns I had during the two times I visited as a new patient at your surgery. Firstly, I would like to inform you that your surgery was highly recommended to me by a dear friend who knows the owner of the business so I deemed this to be an excellent recommendation so I phoned and spoke with your receptionist to register. Since my registration on several occasions I have been received by Sally who I found to be SHARP, RUDE & CONDESCENDING. I'm rather elderly and a little hard of hearing and had to phone the surgery to make an appointment and for a little advice about the Covid19 injection. I appreciate as a mature person we can be a little frustrating and I'm sure it takes a great deal of patients on your part however while I was speaking to Sally I felt she was getting frustrated and impatient with me I could tell this by her tone and manner. When giving me information I kindly asked her to slow down - I dont think this was received very kindly as she became very impatient and unhelpful. I totally appreciate and completely understand that of being in covid19 and its put an increasing amount of pressure and duress on businesses and companies however the Surgery and staff do have a duty of care to its patients including the elderly or mature for want of a better word. Sally must realize being a Medical Receptionist she and her colleague's are the primary representatives of a medical facility. She is front house reception and her duties include greeting patients in a polite manner, maintaining appointments correctly and providing direction to people in person and on the phone in a polite and professional manner and anything less would be a bad reflection on the surgery and even her practice manager. It is with hope that the few concerns I have highlighted will be addressed and therefore contribute to improving the patients experience when visiting /calling the surgery and thus promote good customer care and respect therefore enhancing the surgery. Just to add, I would like to say a big thank you to the Doctors and Nurses for their professional care, diligence and faithfulness to patients throughout covid19. I trust in the near future I will be able to call or visit the surgery with less fear and trepidation as before. sincerely, Kindest regards, | ||||||

YOUR RECEPTIONIST - SALLY I am writing not to complain but to highlight a few concerns I had during the two times I phoned your surgery for an appointment and help in relation to the Covid19 injection. I am relatively a new patient at your surgery. On several occasions I was received by your receptionist Sally. ON EACH OCCASION TO my surprise I found her to be rude, sharp and condescending. I am a pensioner and am very hard of hearing. I felt she was getting rather impatient and frustrated with me. I kindly asked her to slow down as she was rushing through with the information. I wholly appreciate we are living in unprecedented times that being Covid19 and its put an increasing amount of pressure and duress on businesses and surgeries alike however Sally must remember she is front of house of the company so to speak so has a duty of care to her company (surgery) that of holding a professional front, anything less would be a bad reflection on the company or in this case the surgery and the practice manager. The Receptionist is the first person a patient sees or talks to when arriving at or calling the surgery. A Receptionist has to be pleasant as well as having a polite telephone manner and acquire good listening skills and be able to provide the correct information when asked. They also have to be able to check a patient in for an appointment and give direction when necessary in a respectful and professional manner. It is with hope that the few concerns I have highlighted will be addressed and therefore contribute to improving the patients experience when visiting your Surgery and thus help in promoting good customer care therefore enhancing the trust and respect between staff and patients. Just to add, I would like to express my best wishes to the other receptionist who have been particularly kind and respectful towards me - Thank you. Also a big thank you to the Doctors and nurses who have provided me and others with excellent care throughout these difficult times. We salute you.
