My Doctor excellent. One really bad embarrassing experience with a really rude member of staff on reception at pike Road. Private sector slowly taking over. Nurses lovely. Doctor great. Answering phone calls for appointments almost non existant. Scary times. | ||||||

I have tried to call and book an appointment online for the past two months through numerous surgeries however I cannot get one. It is very poor. The system does not work unless you want a blood test. For the whole of Plymouth no appointments for 4 weeks and that is not guaranteed on the day. This needs to be addressed ASAP. . | ||||||

Unsure what is going on with this practice, but it is shocking. tried to get through on the phone unable to do so.. email my query to an email, get given a link to the website to call other surgeries or fill in econsult? Filled in and a warning message comes up advise to contact the surgery asking for an urgent appointment...Can't ring plympton.. surprise... then ring Laira.. advised steps followed.. then called a liar of that warning message as they are made aware of who fills in the econsult? even though i took a screen shot of it and it advised the gp or surgery would not be contacted. So 1) dont appreciate being called a liar 2) your reception staff do not need to know where my issue is only that your "econsult" told me to ask for an urgent appointment.. 3) this is a long list... from previous appointment times 4) DON'T BLAME THIS ON NHS FUNDING this is a practice problem as other practices seem to function fine... We would really appreciate it if you could complain formally to us so we can investigate and respond to the issues you experienced with the reception team, without that detail we cannot address and resolve the problems you have raised. We are very mindful that our phone lines are an issue - there has been significant delay in an NHS funding grant for a telephony upgrade that is unrelated to our organisation but thankfully this has been resolved and we have a new phone system that should result in better service being in position from mid August. You state this is not a funding issue - but it is - there is inadequate funding to deliver the care we want and our patients expect. Other practices are not "fine" by any means - 20% of GP surgeries in Plymouth (covering 50,000 patients) have handed back their contract in recent years because the current funding model is inadequate. We are all working late into the nights and on our days off to try and meet demand. similarly our reception team are over-stretched like all other NHS organisations - if we had enough staff the phones woudl be answered immediately. Please do challenge your MP and raise this issue with them as its only with a political solution that we can ensure the future of the NHS that we see so degraded by austerity. | ||||||
