Arrived at 3.05 for 3.15 apt on weds 20th July. Waited 20 mins and lady in front of me sees nurse while family of 4 arrive. 10 mins later young lady arrives and family of 4 into nurse. Still waiting now 3.45 and young lady in to nurse another arrival of lady with baby and 3 mins later she’s call into nurse. At 3.50 I’m leaving and nurse insists I come back to have dressing changed. Leave and get to car dressing falls over halfway off. Poor, Poor, Poor. I have nothing but respect for job they do but no prioritising and poss failure at reception. |

So difficult to get through to. Often the queue is so long, the call doesn't even connect. Previously when the phone has connected, I've been in the queue for 45 minutes. During a routine pill check with a HCA (not a nurse, like previous appointments...), I disclosed a cancer concern which I had been really nervous about mentioning and I had been putting off saying. - The HCA laughed at me. I was put on a list for the doctor to call. Missed 2 or 3 attempts in the same day because I was at work. Tried to call back but struggled to get through until a couple of days later. I'd been taken off the list for needing a call... despite it being cancer related. Eventually invited into the practice for an appointment. I was in the waiting room for an hour, when I was seen by the doctor, I was told the appointment had been double booked, which is why I had to wait so long - no one had told me! I know there can be long waits in GP surgeries but they didn't seem to consider the anxiety of a cancer appointment and could have phoned to ask me to come in slightly later. |

Thank you for seeing me as an emergency on Monday 23rd August 2021 at 14.45pm, was seen by a wonderful lady GP, sadly cannot remember her name, she then went on to contact me the following day to attend Derriford Hospital, following this I had major surgery carried out on Thursday 26th August, I would like to say a very big thank you all, especially to the Lady GP. Thank you so very much. Best wishes Patricia Mchale |
