I am very grateful for the good service I receive from Overton Park Surgery. I know you cannot always get an appointment with your chosen doctor for 5 - 6 weeks but if ever I have needed to ask for an urgent appointment I have always been able to get one with another doctor (and they can pull up all your details). I find hat doctors always ring back when they say they will and the nurses and receptionists are always more than then helpful. I have been advised to attend a pre-diabetic clinic because my sugar level was high and I have found this very useful (a friend with another practice whose sugar level was high was told -"not to bother"!!). |

I visited Overton Park surgery following a request to my normal surgery for an urgent appointment. Although they were running slightly late, the doctor was amazing. The doctor made me feel very comfortable, like they had all the time i needed to get the correct diagnosis & was so friendly. Thank you Overton Park for fitting me in & thank you to the doctor. |

I must begin by saying I've had numerous positive experiences at this surgery, and staff have mostly been helpful and supportive. However, on my most recent visit, the service I received was both shocking and unprofessional.
I have a chronic illness. I don't believe in wasting people's time, and have always been one to avoid going to the doctor if at all possible. On telling the doctor what was wrong at the moment, my partner added another symptom that I hadn't mentioned. The doctor looked at us and said 'I think you're adding 2 and 2 together to make 5'. Their tone was not jovial, but quite aggressive and the implication was that the symptoms were made up. I can only presume that they were in a bad mood.
Of course the doctor is welcome to their opinion, but I didn't expect such rude, disrespectful comments to be voiced when I needed help. Their job is to help, to support and to cure, especially when the issue is impacting a life so much. |
