This surgery breached data protection and then, initially, refused to engage in my complaint. When I did get a reply the senior GP agreed that there had been a breach, apologized and suggested routes to prevent this from happening again however the formal response from the practice manager did not reflect this and she tried to blame the 3rd party. Mental health support from this surgery is lacking. I also had issues with repeat medication, prescriptions wouldn't be ready within the 48 hr timescale and when asked they would blame the patient for being unreasonable (the last time they stated it wasn't done due to possibly needing blood tests but with anti-epileptic medication it shouldn't be stopped, the blood test should have either been requested before the prescription due date or with the new prescription.) On a positive, the doctor is approachable and responds to patients quickly. |

Attended recently and can confirm what the individual posted here previously about hearing the calls from the waiting room area. Which is absolutely horrendous and a serious data breach. Receptionists are rude and inconsiderate which is worrying considering they are an extension of peoples healthcare. You can never see the same doctor twice which is terrible for continuation of care- in a GP setting and given this follow up care is also lacking. Poorly managed- poor care- poor data protection- poor access to appointments. Just the same as it was before even if they partake in masquerading the service as being far beyond what the reality is. My husband and I have made the decision to leave. They do not have patient interests at heart. I am a retired doctor and the service here is utterly abysmal. |

Tried to register at this local practice in July. Before registering, I asked about appointments, procedures and average waiting times. I have a long term condition so sadly I may be more at a gp practice than others. I was originally reassured that basic standards and expectations would be met. I waited 3 weeks to register with a nurse. When I came in I was poorly greeted by a very rude receptionnist. I could hear staff in a back room handling patient calls in an equally rude and inadequate manner. Not only there was no confidentiality in handling the calls as we could hear everything from the waiting room, and the staff was shouting at patients. After a 3 minute appointment to complete my registration, I asked at the counter to book an appointment to see a gp fairly soon. Receptionist was more concerned about yawning and being laid back on his chair, and even clicking on the computer mouse seemed to be an inconvenience and too much of an effort. I was then told that earliest appointment was in September. It took me a good 15 seconds to process this information, as it was over 6 weeks wait. I politely asked if it was the normal circumstances or if staff was perhaps away, as it was not what I had been told before registering. I was spoken to with attitude, to be told 'yeah that's right our gps do like a holiday in the summer, but perhaps call back in a week or two, maybe we will have appointments by then'. I am glad I wasted 6 weeks without a gp and took half a day off to find out this practice does not provide gp services. I walked out and will now need to waste another month trying to register elsewhere. Avoid at all costs. |
