It is almost impossible to get a doctors appointment at st James. If you are lucky, the rude and unhelpful front desk staff might allow you to see a nurse, who will make every effort to avoid treatment or referral. On the rare times a doctor designs to see you, the care is presumably adequate |

In my experience, St James Practice and staff are highly sensitive and responsive to the diverse needs one may have. There are choices in appointments making the process to speak to and see a medical professional seamless and easy. There is always someone there to talk to in a safe environment, and healthcare and socio-economic needs are followed up on in a wholistic way including through social prescribing. It is a practice in touch with its community network, allowing patients to be involved in practice changes and decision-making. They are a valued support system to me without dependence on appointments where support or community activities may otherwise be accessed. The staff take an interest in encouraging me to achieve the goals and outcomes I set for myself in life. |

I have been a member of the GP practice for a number of years now.
Unfortunately the service has been getting worse.
On a number of occasions i have seen a GP who has provided me with outdated medical advice such as advising me about incorrect practice, refusing to refer me to appropriate services and using "google images" to search for a rash.
In addition, each time you phone the receptionists are rude over the phone and often confrontational in their attitude towards patients when requesting appointments or phoning over queries.
I have had enough of the attitude and poor service from this practice and am leaving. |
