I had a bad urine infection. Being a mum, full-time student and normally busy it is important to find a clear caring staff that could guide you immediately.
I came feeling badly a sign of dehydrating I was not very alert as usual. I spoke to the recipients (Honestly, not friendly, not caring and not professional). (she asked me after giving a urine sample to carry it in my bag). I do not like that as it is not hygen. She saw me very unwell I could not argue with her but certenly very rude and un professioanl.
I have been before to this centre I do not like how they treating the student. it is funny as once they recognise that the English language is not native they think you do not understand body language. Sadly, they have an attitude. I said sadly because I really know NHS service in this country in many cities and they are really great and dedicated.
Now I go to ropewalk or brownlow practice by the tropical medicne collage. They are brilliant for me and my kids if they needed health service. It is the last thing you want, being away from home and family, is that coming sick or unwell and find a rude repsincte laugh at you wanting you to carry a urine sample in your bag.
I hope the student centre improve because honestly, it does not represent the hard work for doctors, nurses and generally NHS provides.
Hope this help. |

The same day access at the GP is very good and ensure you are treated when you have a problem. However receptionist are very rude and seem to enjoy belittling patients. Your problem has to be told at reception, where it is normally very busy and could be highly embarrassing if you have a problem you don't want the whole surgery to hear. The nurses and doctors in this GP do an amazing job and felt very cared for. It is such a shame that the receptionists have taken it upon themselves to be rude and dismissive. Even being a little friendlier would go a long way. |

I was referred to the Student Health Centre as appointments were backed up for the Ropewalks Surgery & got a an appointment within the week.
It was hard to find the Student Health Centre, as it was in a temporary portacabin, hidden from the walkway & situated on the left, as opposed to the right on google maps.
I was told I could only make appointments online if photographic ID was brought - this is not made clear on the website.
However I was seen on time & given good advice by the nurse, who sought a second opinion which provided more reassurance.
It was a positive experience overall. |
