I have hardly ever used GP practice so far. I wanted to see my GP for a long standing symptom, which is not urgent. I logged into my patient access and there is no doctor appointment shown that I could book. Future dates are all blanked out. Hence I rang for a routine appointment in future. But the person who answered the phone at the surgery was not helpful at all. She said there is no routine appointments for any doctor for any day in the future! She said the only way is to ring on the day at 8 am and ask for appointment on that day. This is not possible as I am a busy NHS employee as well and I can't afford to cancel my work on the day without notice, if I get an appointment on the day. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked her how I could complaint, she simply said you need to come down to the surgery and talk to the manager. Really!! If what this person says is true, the appointment system need to change immediately. Could the manager of this firm urgently look into this please? |

35 mins and 90 phone calls to get through , then 12 mins in automated phone system , to be told , no doctors appointments left and it’s only 8.45am , the staff and doctors are great , but the appointment system needs reviewing Reply from Ilex View Medical Practice Thu, 25 Apr 2019 11:57:01 +0100 Many thanks for your feedback. I apologise that we were unable to offer you an appointment today. We have received an excessively high volume of calls this morning. We do have a cancellation list that is triaged and if appropriate patients will be contacted with an appointment that day. Have you registered for online access? You can book appointments though your smart phone/ tablet this way. Please call in for an application form if you haven't already applied for this. I will look into the new phone system as it still in the early stages and it appears it needs tweaking. Many thanks again for your feedback it is very much appreciated and valued. |

I don't have any issues with staff at this practise but if you can get through on the phone you are lucky 102 times I rang the other week trying to get through in the morning for an appointment. Impossible it either cuts you off straight away or permanently engaged. They did say they had a new phone system to put you in a queue in stead of ringing back that didn't work either. I'm considering moving GP its impossible to get them on the phone for an appointment. I f you want to book one in advance its usually weeks away. By the time you do get thru sorry all the appointments have gone . |
