Tried for several weeks to get an appointment. after being prescribed medication I received a text message informing me that if my symptoms did not improve to call 999 or attend A & E. Its not for Hospitals having to take patients who should be attending the GPs Surgery not the A & E Department for appointments. Best thing is for this Surgery to close down. Its costing the NHS too muc |

Try getting an appointment when the system of ringing at 8 continually changes. I have managed to get through on two consecutive days by one minute past 8 only to be informed I need to ring back at another time as there are no appointments left. Ask to see a doctor face to face only to be told they are all working from home. If medicine can be done remotely then a pay review is required. Tax payers money is wasted on the current NHS. 7 years of expensive university training plus many more years of expensive training for the doctors to sub specialize or do their GP training - then only to offer you a telephone consultation at their convenience which could be provided by someone without half of the training and expense. Medicine is about more than speaking to someone on the phone it also includes visual assessments and examinations. The number of cancers missed of course be put down to COVID not to these over paid people wanting to work from home and God forbid meet the people who's presence on their books pays their inflated salaries. Why are GPs allowed to work from home? I cannot imagine the hospital doctors having that choice now after COVID. The GP work life balance has improved over the years working office hours, they have specialist nurses doing a lot of what they used to do for a fraction of their salaries and a business manager keeping their lucrative business going. If you believe your GP surgery is still truely part of the NHS you need to look into the funding arrangements. |
