Absolutely impossible to get an appointment or to even speak to someone on the phone. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get through on the phone to book an appointment (a couple of occasions being on hold for over 30mins and eventually giving up). I went into the surgery to request log in details to try the online booking system. The receptionist was helpful setting me up, but failed to mention all online appointments are currently for flu clinics only. I have tried calling again today regarding my 4 year old daughter and the phone lines are completely cut off stating they are receiving high call volume. Unfortunately, I am going to have to resort to calling Devon Docs as I am unsure how long it is okay to leave my 4 year old without medical advice. |

Despite ringing three times for an emergency appointment they said that they have been unable to fit me in even though they agree that I need one as soon as possible. They state the next best route is to try and to ring up and make a routine appointment. I have rang three times to get a routine appointment and the phone has not once been answered below 40 minutes. Upon every phone call (all a week apart) they have not been able to offer me any appointments. The last phone call I said stated that if I wanted a doctors appointment that I should try and ring in September! To not be able to offer any appointments across the whole of beacon medical group is atrocious |

Beacon Medical Group have amazing staff, good facilities and you do get lovely treatment from them, once you can get through!!! I’ve never waited less than 10 mins stuck in their phone queuing system and this is hugely frustrating. When you are feeling that ill it’s hard to face the thought of having to battle through just to talk to someone. It’s a shame as once you do get through I can’t fault the service. It is a long wait for a routine app with the GP of your choice, but that’s par for the course and everyone understands the levels of demand they are trying to cope with, and if you are not urgent you should wait. In summary I feel sorry that the initial experience of accessing services is so poor as it could tarnish people’s view of the surgeries as a whole, when they are actually very good. If that could be sorted then it would be 5 stars for every area from me. |
