In pain with cystitis, asked if there were any appointments, told no, asked if I could drop off a specimen, told not until tomorrow morning, then told to go to a chemist they would be able to give me something, found the exchange curt and obviously very tiresome for the individual. I wasn't offered any alternative appointments. I am in my 60s, this has happened to me before, it usually gets intolerable and I have to drive to outpatients in Bishop Auckland hospital, with very long wait, expect the same will happen this evening. |

Appointments are something of a challenge but they do their best. |

Not being able to future book appointments is annoying. Calling at 8 to get an appointment is a lottery. Appointments are never on time, even if you’ve got the first appointment of the day. Often runnung ten minutes late. Only time I’ve felt really listened to was when a student doctor was in so I’m guessing it was a bit of a performance for them on behalf of the doctor.
Getting bloods taken - nightmare. Took 10 attempts and ended up very bruised.
Worst experience - I got into the appointment (running ten mins late) crying as was distressed. Tried to explain my situation. Doctor’s mobile phone rang. With no explanation or apology he picked up the phone and took the call (from water board) for about 10 minutes. No apology when he’d finished. I didn’t feel like the Practice Manager was that bothered when I complained.
Best - reception, pharmacy and healthcare staff are all lovely. |
