Gretton Surgery

Experience as a family has been great until now! We moved to Gretton Valley 5 years ago and registered after calling and them confirming we were in catchment. However 5 years later, last week at a routine appointment we were told we were now out of catchment (despite still living in Gretton Valley and not having moved) and needed to move doctors within a month. I explained that Gretton is our closest doctors but was told to look in oakley vale or bridgestock instead, all much further away. 5 days later when trying to re arrange an existing appointment I was told I was not allowed to as I could no longer access the doctors as I was out of catchment! this was 5 days after being told i had a month! So now my family are struggling to get appointments and repeat prescriptions from a surgery we have been at for 5 years and is our local surgery!

I signed up for the practice as i live just off Gretton road, this was done on-line and followed by a conversation by the main practice within the hour. All was well after a short discussion explaining where i lived and that i would visit the main practice within the next 2 months with ID. On arrival i was then told that they would not take me on because i was out of there area. If living just off Gretton road for the Gretton surgery is out there area then they should make this clear. To top it off they have pushed me towards another surgery that is further away only to find they are not taking on Patients. I am very disappointed and frustrated especially as my prescriptions have run out and will have to get back in contact with my previous doctor some 70 miles away and asked for a prescription to be filled.
