Just browsing the reviews as I’m currently a patient at Roundwood Surgery but thinking of moving and totally agree with the one made earlier today about not being able to book an appointment. I called yesterday at 8.30 to the message that I was caller number 20 in a queue. I was working and wasn’t able to hang on. Called again mid afternoon where I was caller number 3. Spoke to a receptionist who confirmed only same day appointments were available and that I had to call at 8.30am. I could do with seeing a doctor but I work and, whilst I can call some days at 8.30, I just cannot hang on for upwards of 19 people before me to book an appointment. I don’t need a same day appointment but need advice from a doctor. Frankly it just isn’t good enough. |

Since Covid it appears the surgery will now only give out appointments for the current day and that you have to ring at 8.30am to secure one of these. This is extremely difficult if you work. I do not necessarily need a same day appointment, but it appears non-urgent appointments are not offered any more. I have not attended the surgery now for over 2 years but now I need them I feel they are not there for their patients. Before Covid you were made to feel like you were an inconvenience and wasting their time I dread to think what it is like now!! |

I have had a torrid time through the Covid epidemic which has hit me hard mentally. Initially I didn't want to bother the GPs as they were under such pressure, but eventually I did ring them. OK there way delays in the telephone answering but then I was contacted by a First Response Practitioner (actually a physiotherapist) who took all the details and offered initial support and advice. She then arranged for me to be seen by one of the GPs and I commenced on treatment and the road to recovery. All the follow ups have been by telephone, but frankly I don't think going into the surgery would have made any difference. Now feeling much better. Considering the Covid epidemic amongst the staff, other staff illness and the fire, I think they are doing a great job. |
