As the daughter of a dementia sufferer I was very worried about my own memory. The doctor arranged a memory test and brain scan for me very quickly. I received the results of these test - again- very quickly.
I can always get through on the phone, usually get an appointment on the same day - and everyone that you deal with at the surgery goes out of their way to be helpful and kind. I have been a patient at many surgeries and this is by far the very best. The Doctors and all the staff are fabulous. | ||||||

Whilst the medical practitioner are helpful and professional in the surgery, the 'reception' staff leave a lot to be desired. This has been part of the culture of the 'reception service' for the past 20 years that I have been a patient. The team rarely smile and I have felt as though I am troubling them if I ask a question at the desk. Would it be impossible to have a dedicated person who could at least smile and offer a friendly word? Patients are in the main attending the surgery because they need some kind of medical care and help, moreover this may be for issues which are challenging and difficult for patents to deal with. A friendly approach would not cost the practice anything but would make a big difference. | ||||||

I've been a member of this surgery for some years now and today was the star that broke the camels back. I called up this morning, after x3 of calling and asked to be seen by a doctor only to be absolutely grilled by the receptionist and shed wanted to know exactly why I want to see the doc and tried to par me off to the nurse.
I wanted to see the doctor as the condition that seemed to have developed was very sensitive and not something I wanted to talk about with any old soul.
Anyway got an appointment, went to see the doc, all he did was google it, chatted with him and his reply was ridiculous. I also suffer from anxiety btw. His reply "monitor it and if it gets worse some in" I said its causing my anxiety to flare up and he said monitor that too, if it gets worse come back.
So I asked said, what you're saying is let it get worse then you want to refer me, so you dont want to tackle it when the problem is small bare in mind referral takes (10-12 weeks waiting). He said yes. I couldn't believe it, I've just registered with another doctor and recommend no one uses this joke of a surgery. | ||||||
