I have been a patient at this practice for many years and have to say that the service delivered by the practising medical staff is always second to none. However it’s a pity that they employ one of the most unbelievably rude receptionists I’ve been ever come across. I am aged 72 with asthma and felt poorly due to a suspected chest infection. I had almost lost my voice which made it difficult to speak and my breathing was laboured. On 21st and 22nd December 2022 I made umpteenth attempts to secure a doctor’s appointment but unfortunately all appointments had been taken. Even though I rang two days in a row at 8:30pm when the surgery opens. I was advised to ring 111 which I did and after going through an over the phone assessment was advised by 111 to call my doctor back requesting to be contacted by them within the hour and if they didn’t respond in that time I was advised to ring 111 straight back. I relayed this to the ‘rude receptionist’ and her response was wholly unprofessional. She advised me that 111 did not normally do this and. how naughty they were! I don’t think she believed me to be honest and she continued to argue with a very unwell patient aged 72 years over the phone. It was a struggle to speak because of my laryngitis anyway and she was going to fob me off. I ended uo by saying please don’t argue with me, instead take the issue up with 111, and not the vulnerable patient who was already feeling very distressed I enquired what action she was going to take (in the capacity of a non medical profession). She wasn’t going to budge and when I got angry and said “what if die because I Can’t breath?” She replied well if you’re that ill you need an ambulance. This was on 22nd December 2022 when ambulances were on strike. I was so angry and reduced to tears by her unprofessional, unsympathetic rude attitude. I reached the point I couldn’t say anymore and remained silent to see what are was going to say next. Eventually she backed down went to see the doctor to see if he could fit me in. Her response was the doctor was able to just squeeze me in. I don’t doubt the NHS crisis we’re currently in and have every praise and support for medics but this receptionist was a little Hitler. |

Just spoke to a receptionist who was rude and hang up the phone on me before I finished talking. I was left feeling upset and in disbelief by this. |

The main problem is trying to get my weekly prescriptions on time, I cant leave my home sometimes due to mental health, and i call to renew my prescriptions within in the time frame the clinic operates and i call on the day its due and still not been done and sent to chemist this has happened on more than one occasion especially over a bank holiday i am then left without medication until they reopen, witch makes coping with my mental health very hard, it also unfair that if the surgery is closed on a bank holiday friday why cant they have my prescriptions sent over to the chemist the day before so i can arrange for my medication to be collected, i also find it very hard to get an appointment and when i see the doctor it feel like i'm been rushed back out the door, |
